I bought my 2002 Black Dodge Stratus brand new from Great Northern Dodge located in North Olmsted Ohio in July 2002. Keep in mind this car is parked in my garage and has always been hand washed. It’s never been through a car wash.
By July of 2003, the paint on the hood started chipping and then peeling away. By July of 2004 the paint on the roof was now turning white. I took it to the dealership and they took pictures every year for the past 4 years. They kept telling me they were waiting on Chrysler for an answer. In the meantime, the dealership went through 2 body shop managers. Mysteriously, my pictures and complaints to Dodge disappeared with the body shop managers. My salesman from Great Northern Dodge in Ohio is great though. He fought every step of the way for me.
Anyways, I moved and ended up taking my car to another dealership. They immediately told me the car was repainted. This came as a shock to me since I owned the car right off of the lot. An independent body shop verified the hood, roof and trunk were repainted and it was a very poor job. Again, I took back to the original dealership Great Northern Dodge and the body shop manager Wes was a complete idiot to me. He just didn’t care and didn’t want to hear my story because my car “was out of warranty”. A big attitude and complete lack of customer service, maybe that is why they hide him in the body shop. My salesman Randy Milton ended up taking care of it again and had me bring in pictures of the car and sent them back to Dodge.
Well, I just got word back from Chrysler after 4 years they will not repaint the car. No explaination either, just no.
This is just absolutely ludicrous. This is my 5th brand new Dodge in a row and my last Dodge ever. They just don’t get it, they drive away loyal customers like myself and wonder why they can’t remain profitable.

I think we need to start a class action lawsuit against Chrysler as they need to be held accountable. Everywhere I go I see Dodge cars and trucks with faded paint.
